About Me
Writing about oneself is difficult; it's much easier writing about something rather than someone.
So, for anyone who's remotely interested: Graham Robinson lives in the Lake District, Cumbria, England, is 30 something years old and enjoys creating web sites, music and cycling.
Why build a web site anyway?
I recently decided that I needed to create my own web site, to put 'myself on the map' so to speak, to claim my little corner on the world wide web and let people know what I'm doing, what's interesting me at the moment and to a certain extent, what I'm about.
Planning an 'About Me' page is harder than you think, where do you start and end?
On one hand you don't want to give too much information away because you never know who's on the other side of the screen reading your details, but at the same time you have to make the site a worthwhile read if you're going to do the job properly!
Especially if you're the sort of person with plenty going on in their life, also, updating a personal site can become a hobby in itself due to the infinite amount of features and content that can be added. For example, 'blogging' pages almost seem to be a necessity these days, and I may get around to adding one to this site – but until visitor numbers start to build up, I think the small 'News' section on the Home page will suffice.
Because I could foresee this section of the site turning into one mammoth scrolling session, I thought the easiest way to do this 'About Me' section of the site would be to divide the things that interest me into the sections on the right, that way, anyone with similar interests can go to the area they're interested in without having to read all the way through these ramblings.....
